“Sat around for a bit”

I love the energy with which Stevens approaches her work and the hands on techniques she uses when creating her grass sculptures. To visually experience the changes occurring in her work as it grows and then dies, leaves me intrigued by the ephemeral nature within these quirky pieces of work. This image was taken when Stevens came to Rainbow for my crop drive. She positioned her grass skins around the town, telling a story of their visit. She then exhibited these at Unicorn Lane Gallery in Ballarat in 2013
