Julie Andrews, artist in transit

Using layering techniques and repeated patterns, artist Julie Andrews creates beautiful paintings like peering through a blurred windscreen covered in raindrops at night. I was always intrigued watching her work. More recently, she has been involved in an ‘Artist in Transit’ project, asking travellers to draw what they see or feel along their journey. These images are then passed from one traveller to another at different exhibitions. This intrigues me and reminds me of the invasive way in which snails have spread down the rail lines and hitch hiked on machinery. Check out her inspiring project.
